Can I use both Locations and Geo-Fences in a single campaign?
You cannot select both Locations and Geo-Fences as your Location Type for a single campaign. However, you can change the Location Type from Geo-Fences to Locations , or vice-versa, after a campaign has been activated. If you choose to change the Location Type , all existing locations or target fences are deleted. The Location Type determines the type of location-based reporting you use, therefore it is not recommended to switch location types after a campaign is activated and delivering impressions. It is best to create a new campaign if you want to change the Location Type .
If I remove a location from my campaign, will the location and its performance metrics still populate in reporting?
Yes. Deleting a location from a campaign does not delete the performance data from the Simpli.fi Platform. The performance metrics tied to the location populate in reporting as long as the the reporting time frame is for dates that the location was in the campaign.
Note
The Simpli.fi Platform tracks conversions for up to 30 days. If your campaign is tracking conversions and you remove any type of targeting, you may still see the removed targeting parameter populate in reporting for the following 30 days.
For example, if you remove an ad from your campaign and, after removal, a conversion is tied back to the ad, the ad still displays in reporting. This logic applies to all targeting settings (ads, keywords, targeting audiences, etc.).
What type of report should I use to see how my campaign performed by location?
To view performance by location, use the Location Based Reporting templates found in the Report Center . Depending on the type of location you are targeting, add Country , Region , Metro , or City as fields to the report. The Region field should be used if you want to see performance at the state-level.
You should not use the Location Based Reporting templates for Geo-Fence or Addressable Geo-Fence campaigns. You should use the Geo-Fence Reporting templates and the Addressable Geo-Fence Reporting templates, respectively.
Note
If your campaign is using video or audio ads, you must use the templates found under Video Interaction Reporting or Audio Interaction Reporting , respectively, to report on metrics such as Video Completion Rate or Audio Completion Rate .
